Waltz for Ruth
Charlie Haden’s “Waltz for Ruth,” followed by an original guitar solo over the same changes. Guitar and bass generated from string and body models. Hear the original recording ↗

Same theme, solo, timing and guitar. This take adds internal string damping to reduce lingering bass buzz. Compare with the original at the same playback position.

The theme is unchanged. At 0:43, the guitar starts an original solo over the same 32-bar form: a small opening idea, rising phrases, a higher passage, and a return to E♭.
The bass stays quieter beneath the runs and answers in the held notes and spaces. Both follow the same phrase timing. This is our solo, inspired by lyrical guitar phrasing—not a note-for-note reconstruction of Pat Metheny’s recording.
