# Ruth writing study — the original guitar, one remembered idea

The user accepts Ruth's original guitar and otherwise likes the piece, but
rejects the solo as notes strung together without soul or understanding. This
separate draft changes writing, not the instrument. It must never replace an
existing Ruth recording, score, source, model, gain or URL.

The instrument is the preserved original guitar with SHA256
`1acd8809a4576871e9927bd2ca5015aeb5e6530b5fc956766bd64f502da9813d`.
The comparison baseline is the current bass-calm album take: its guitar is
byte-identical to the original, and its accepted bass remains unchanged.
No Music IV physical guitar, newer Ruth guitar, samples or paid review APIs.

## The musical thought

Remember the tune's long Bb, little A/Bb neighbour turn and descending A/G
answer. The new complete 32-bar solo displaces that rhythm, lets the answer grow,
carries its shape into G major and darkens it when the harmony changes. One busy
rise compresses the thought rather than starting unrelated runs on each chord.
Its single late C5 crest becomes Cb, Bb and A as the colour changes, then the
Eb/D/Eb neighbour becomes the ending instead of a reason to start another run.

Dynamics are written over those sentences. There is no rule accenting every
bar's first note and no independent random timing jitter. The existing shared
bar clock, all bass events and theme events stay fixed. Several responses make
room for the existing bass replies. Space is part of the answer, not a numerical
note-count target; the busier passage remains.

These are actual compositional choices, not a soul score or a claim of Pat
Metheny-level improvisation. Labels and motif tests cannot establish that the
result is convincing. It still needs an audible separate comparison and the
user's musical judgment.

## Preservation and rendering

Render only the newly written solo through the original per-note guitar model,
using the original excitation, release, highpass, pan and source gain. Preserve
the accepted theme and its ring-out as exact PCM before the old solo's entry.
Keep the original band-minus-guitar backing exactly when inserting the new solo.
Any playback-level match must be one transparent constant on the new solo only,
never a change to the preserved theme, bass or guitar model.

Verify frozen-source hashes, the complete written chorus and baseline timing,
actual finite/passive note synthesis, exact theme/backing preservation, safe
PCM/codec output and native players before publication. No agent playback.
All owned browser/automation sessions must close after UI checks. The full
controller experiment from study 15 remains a separate local candidate, not a
writing improvement or this study's instrument.
