Keep the space between the notes
The original solo’s notes and harmonic structure, with shaped guitar entrances, lighter connecting notes, and selected phrase-end breaths. The bass and theme stay unchanged. The melody continues at 0:18; an original solo begins at 0:42.
Eight phrase arcs give the guitar room to enter softly, move forward, and relax into an arrival. These are deliberate musical gestures against the existing bass pulse. The tempo and form are preserved.
Guitar melody and bass, with no added chord layer. The instrument models are unchanged from the gentler-bass version. No chords have been added. This is a phrasing study, not a measured recreation of Metheny’s timing. No samples or added effects. The solo is our composition over the tune’s changes, not a transcription of Pat Metheny’s performance.
